“A beautiful cottage, well equipped with everything we needed.”

Was a privilege to be able to stay in such a historic cottage with original features, lots of character - stayed July 2017 The kettle developed a leak during our stay, I phoned Dream Cottages, who replaced it the next day. Could not fault the cottage or the service from Dream Cottages. Hope to return in the future and would highly recommend. Stayed for a family holiday - 3 adults and 1 dog.

The property

This country cottage is located in the heart of the village of Langton Herring, in Dorset.

With its thatched roof, white washed walls and exposed beams throughout, this quintessential cottage is ideal for a family getaway to the Dorset countryside.

The unfenced garden incorporates a seating area as the country style mismatched stone paved pathway guides you to the lawn at the rear of the garden A path to your neighbour’s garden passes through this space – so be ready to say hello and meet some charming locals! Through the front entrance porch you will enter into the lounge with it’s large inglenook open fire ready to provide you with many lovely evenings in front of the fire.

In the small dining room, you will discover a piano for your family sing-alongs, this then leads through to a cosy kitchen with a door into the back garden.

Make your way up the cottage style stairwell with it’s lower headroom to the first floor where you will find a small shower room and two bedrooms; a Family sized main bedroom with both a double and a single bed and the second bedroom, which has a unique built-in toe-to-toe twin set of single beds. Take a stroll through the rural streets and discover what Langton Herring has to offer, including The Elm Tree Inn where you can sample some of their home cooked meals and partake in their Sunday carvery. The cottage is situated between the sandy beach resort of Weymouth with its family appeal and the more westerly resorts of Bridport, with its lively market town feel and West Bay which has a sleepy seaside harbour feel.

Badgers Cottage is therefore excellently placed for exploring the wonderful World Heritage Jurassic Coastline of Dorset. With it’s countryside setting and short journeys to beautiful towns along the south coast of Dorset, Badgers cottage is ideally located to showcase the best that Dorset has to offer.
