The property

Field View Cottage is a semi detatched cottage located at Higher Eype, about a ten-minute walk from Eype a pretty 'olde' English village believed to have been a smugglers haunt!

This rural cottage is positioned so that you may take in the splendid view of fields and countryside which surround it.

Filled with bags of cottage character you are warmly welcomed into the sitting room, with it’s brick fireplace and wood burner a perfect place to curl up with a good book.

The large country kitchen is the perfect place to gather and cook up a storm to be enjoyed together around the farm house table.

Wander through the patio doors and enjoy the cottage garden and seating.

The Local pub The New Inn hotel has a dog friendly 'Smugglers' bar open to non-residents during high season and offers a warm welcome to all visitors. With the Jurassic Coast on your doorstep this is ideally located for some hearty walks to nearby West Bay in one direction and Charmouth in the other.

For a busier atmosphere, the market town of Bridport is only a mile away where you can find well-known high-street stores, antiques and collectables, as well as a regular farmers' market showcasing the best of Dorset produce.

Field View cottage is super house for a family to come and explore the Jurassic Coast.

About the location

Eype sits on one of the most dramatic sections of the Jurassic Coastline, and famously features one of ITV’s series Broadchurch’s most iconic locations. We’ll leave you guessing as to which one until you visit. The beach at Eype is a steeply shelving pebble beach that is dog friendly all year round and just 3 miles from Bridport and 4 from West Bay, where many other Broadchurch locations can be viewed, as well enjoying local fish and chips on the harbour side and ice creams on the sea front. Bridport offers all the high street amenities you will need along with a much-coveted antiques and collectables market. Golden Cap, the highest point in Dorset, sits on the South West Coast path and is just 4 miles from Eype, although it’s the highest point there are moderate routes to walk to the top, where spectacular far reaching views along the coast will be your reward.

Note: Second floor, Steep and narrow cottage stairs leading to second floor which has restricted headroom due to sloped ceiling height and very low beams (care needed) on this floor.
Note: Guest must provide their own logs for the wood burner.
Note: guest to provide their own cot linen.
Note: Unrestricted parking in the lane directly outside the cottage but as the lane is very narrow here, although it should be fine to quickly offload outside, vehicles must be parked further down the lane where it is wider to avoid causing an obstruction.
