    “A real home from home.”

Cosy, well appointed we wanted for nothing, unfortunately weather was against us, so a cosy warm cottage was ideal. Our bed was super comfy and if weather had been better going out through doors into the garden would have been lovely. Maybe next time. We stayed over New Year and it was lovely that the owner contacted us incase we had any problems or issues Thankfully we didn't. Would thoroughly recommend. Excellent curry house, pub and fish and chips within easy walking.

Thank you Sue for your lovely review. The weather has been dreadful. I do hope if you return that weather will be better. Property Owner

Found nestled amidst the bustling town of Swanage, a town which rests at the eastern end of the Jurassic Coast is the wonderful Higgledy Piggledy Cottage.

The terraced cottage has been designed to offer you and your loved ones a welcoming retreat to come back to each evening, after enjoying days exploring the Jurassic Coast and the plethora of things to.

After an action-packed day of exploring, look forward to relaxing into your evening within the sitting room, where a warming fire is much-welcomed during the winter months.

Light up the fire and tune into the TV, as you relax on the traditional style sofa to enjoy a relaxed moment.

When hunger strikes, head into the contemporary kitchen and make use of the quality appliances left for you to rustle up some delicious evening meals and plenty of space for you to pack up a picnic for the next day’s beach adventure.

As the evening draws to a close, make your way to one of three three bedrooms, comprising of a double bedroom with TV and patio door that opens up onto a patio area, a twin bedroom and a spacious single bedroom, together sleeping up to five people.

The bedrooms are served by a sleek family bathroom, boasting a shower over bath and a washing machine, so that you can easily wash your belongings after a day at the beach.

Continuing to impress is the rear garden area, where table and chairs offer a spot for alfresco dining during the summer months and the lawn area is perfect for letting children play in the sunshine.

You won’t have to travel far to pick up the essentials with a range of independent butchers, bakers, fishmongers and farm shops and well-known supermarkets within striking distance, as well as a number of pubs for that well-deserved beverage.

Whatever time of the year, the town enjoys a lively atmosphere, however hours of fun can be had during Regatta and Carnival Week by attending the Caribbean-style carnival with its spectacular fireworks, music and dancing.

Immerse yourself in your surroundings further by hopping on board the town’s steam train, taking you through the beautiful Purbeck countryside and past Corfe Castle to the sandy beach of Swanage.

Uncover the local history by visiting the town’s museum, where you can look forward to gaining an insight of the town’s story from Dinosaurs and the Jurassic Coast to Seaside Resort, as well as the Second World War.

Look forward to discovering the geology of 185 million years of Earth’s history by walking along the spectacular cliff top of the Jurassic Coast, offering breath-taking scenery along the way.

With so much to see and do, Higgledy Piggledy Cottage promises to be an action-packed getaway for the whole family to enjoy.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.

Note: Stairs inside the cottage are quite steep - children need to be supervised at all times.
Note: Steps leading up to garden area - children need to be supervised at all times.
Note: The neighbouring property has access to the back garden in case of emergencies.
