“The property was brilliant and we had a fantastic stay.”

The only things that could have improved it would be the spanner to tighten the baby gate and an oven glove (we looked but couldn't find one).

The property

Located on an old dairy, The Creamery is within strolling distance of the centre of the historic market town, Dorchester.

Sleeping up to five people in three bedrooms, the property is a lovely holiday getaway with sunny garden area to enjoy with all family. The property is a luxury conversion of what was once a Tinsmith's workshop; the original solid wooden beams still giving delightful character to the property.

It is part of a group of converted cottages, flats and houses on the same site at Fordington Dairy, all converted in a complementary fashion and enabling a real village feel.

The original buildings were connected to the Fordington House estate and are believed to date from the 18th century. The interior combines characterful vaulted, beamed ceilings with contemporary decor and stylish furnishings.

The bright and spacious open plan lounge, kitchen and diner offers a great space for congregating and spending time together, following days spent exploring and enjoying the delights of Dorchester, the surrounding countryside and nearby Jurassic coast.

The property comprises three comfortable bedrooms, including a generously sized double room, a single room and a third bedroom offering the option of either a super king-size double, or a twin room, depending on the requirements of your party. Dorchester offers a traditional high street with a large selection of well-known shops and complemented by lanes accommodating charming boutique shops and independent retailers, while the vibrant Brewery Square offers an expansive choice of cafes, restaurants, shops and entertainment.

With several museums located in the town, why not soak up some culture followed by a stroll through the pretty Borough Garden, or The Duchy of Cornwall's Poundbury.

On the outskirts of Dorchester, Maumbury Rings, a grassed Roman amphitheatre is a fantastic spot for a picnic and it also plays host to various events, including live music and theatre, during the summer months.

The Iron Age hill fort of Maiden Castle is just over a mile away from the centre of Dorchester and offers visitors some stunning views, and an opportunity to explore what is reputed to be the largest hill fort of its kind in Europe.

Around 10 miles away is the coast at Weymouth, which boasts a long and sandy award-winning beach along with traditional beach entertainments such as donkey rides and Punch and Judy shows.

The Creamery is a wonderful property to enjoy Dorchester and surrounding countryside for families or small group of friends.
