    “Had a great week, the house is in a perfect position with views of the sea.”

    Although the house is relatively small, it was comfortable and so well equipped, with a well maintained garden. The owners had also thought of everything to make our dogs stay perfect, providing blankets, towels, bowls, even a spare lead just in case! We would certainly recommend.

Tucked away in the quiet village of Wyke Regis, Weymouth, is Chalkhill View, a wonderful property just a stone’s throw from the beach and boasting impressive views across the coast to the beautiful Isle of Portland. This property provides a superb base for a family or group of friends to explore the delights of the Jurassic Coast. A sought-after off-road parking space (visible from the property) greets you upon arrival, making it easy to jump in the car and head further afield to visit the sights and attractions that Dorset has to offer.

Stepping into the property you're welcomed into a cloakroom area which leads to the homely living / dining room, flooded with light invited in through the patio doors and bay window with views eastwards of the Purbeck Hills, featuring a comfortable seating area gathered in front of the television and a wooden dining suite.

Continue through to the kitchen, where you'll find all of the amenities necessary to rustle up a hearty meal for the group, choosing to gather around the dining table or heading out to the patio to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining, soaking in the fresh sea breeze. Completing the ground floor is a conservatory, set aside as a multifunctional room to use as you so choose - to store beach kit, wet suits, wellies / hiking boots or even bikes. Prepare for bed with a quick shower or a leisurely soak in the bath before choosing to rest your head in one of the two well-presented bedrooms; a double room at the front of the house boasting fabulous views across the rooftops of the scenic coastline both day and night or the spacious twin bedroom at the rear.

Water sports enthusiasts will be delighted with the close proximity to the coastline and probably already know about the sheer amount of water sport activities that Portland Harbour is renowned for, with the National Sailing Academy located less than two miles away where you can partake in activities such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddle boarding and sailing of course!

For guests who prefer a more relaxed holiday the town boasts long stretches of golden sandy beaches, including the Blue Flag award winning Weymouth Beach. The nearby Rodwell Trail lies on the South-West Coastal Path, a short walk away from your holiday home, and provides a scenic walking / cycling / scooter / pram route along a former railway line into the heart of Weymouth, where you can discover a diverse range of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the attractive esplanade – full to the brim with attractions to keep the whole family entertained.

Watch the tall ships and yachts dock from the historic Weymouth Harbour, boasting a 17th-century waterfront, indulging in a portion of delicious fresh fish and chips from one of the many takeaway kiosks in true seaside tradition.

Wyke Regis is a village on the south western side of Weymouth that sits on the northern edges of Portland Harbour and reaches as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet, just two miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including the famous Crab House café, with it’s own oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing School, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just two miles away on the edge of Portland Harbour. The Fleet Lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area, whilst Chesil beach is also a renowned spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic Coast.
