This charming thatched cottage is located in the pretty village of Burton Bradstock, on Dorset’s stunning Jurassic coast.
It is just 400 steps to the wonderful Hive Beach – or a five minute wander into the picturesque village.Alice's cottage, which is spread out over two floors, is an ideal escape for couples and families wishing to explore the Dorset shore.
After a day of adventure, relax in front of the TV, or pull out a board game, in the tasteful living area which boasts an authentic flame electric ‘woodburning’stove.
There is a dining room or for sunny days/evenings, there is a dining table (with parasol) outside so that you can eat al fresco, or just enjoy a sundowner or nice cup of Dorset tea in the mature, lawned, garden.
The kitchen is well-equipped for home cooking, with several integrated appliances such as an electric oven and stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and dishwasher.
There is also a washing machine for your convenience and a washing line outside.
As the evening draws to a close, make yourself at home in the master bedroom, which features a kingsize bed and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath and a walk-in shower cubicle.
The charming twin room across the hall offers two single beds and there is another shower room downstairs to avoid any congestion!
Burton Bradstock itself has a post office/shop, two dog friendly pubs (with food, and outside dining) and a garage with a convenience store so you can stock up on all the essentials.
There is a children’s play area in the village (if you can drag them away from the beach!) and the church is straight out of a picture postcard.
Two more award winning eateries are within walking distance – the Hive Beach Café, and The Parlour at Bredy Farm which has recently enjoyed glowing write ups in the national press.
The popular beachside resort of West Bay, famed for appearing in the ITV series Broadchurch, is only two miles away (but if you are familiar with the series you will spot locations used in the filming everywhere you go!).
West Bay offers everything from rib boat rides to a seasonal fun fair, a very well equipped children’s play area and a host of shops including a huge vintage emporium.
Meanwhile, the bustling but quaint market town of Bridport (also just over two miles away) offers a whole range of facilities, from supermarkets (Waitrose and Morrisons), gorgeous local bakeries and cafés to a newly opened indoor climbing centre.
Abbotsbury swannery is a five minute drive along the coast (you will pass the infamous Chesil Beach on the way), or head in the other directly towards Lyme Regis and stop at Charmouth Beach for fossil hunting, and a very informative visitors centre.
Keen walkers will find wonderful routes both inland and along the coast including an intense six mile hike to Golden Cap, Dorset's highestpoint , from which you will be rewarded with some of the best views in the county.
