“Fabulous house with everything you can need for a ‘home from home’ holiday.”
Luxury kitchen and 3 good-sized double bedrooms and a smaller 4th bedroom with single beds. A great area for exploring the surrounding area and no hassle handover with the home owner. Will definitely be going back to this house.

“Superb quiet location.”
Very flexible space which accommodated our party of 6 adults, 2 babies and 1 dog perfectly. The kitchen was very well supplied with cutlery, crockery and other items and we really appreciated the outdoor space too. Room to park 3 cars was also appreciated.- Ms Speaight, September 2021

A short walk to shops/pubs, and other attractions are not far away in the car. Dishwasher and clothes dryer were great! We found the cleanliness on arrival was not the best, mainly kitchen. There are 2x ovens provided in the kitchen, however only 1x oven has shelves in so the 2nd is useless?! And only 2x oven trays provided for an 8 person house. The fridge would not go down to a low enough temp for us. Reported to the owner but he was not interested in looking in to it. You can clearly see the vents are iced up at the back and blocking air flow to cool the fridge. We have a Samsung fridge at home which has had this issue. The sensor has gone in the fridge that activates the small heater to melt any ice build up. There are random wires hanging down the the corners of the bedrooms which look messy. The mattresses were unfortunately the worst we have ever slept on, nothing to them when you lie/sit on them. You can also feel every spring. We couldn't wait to get back home to our own beds! The bedroom furniture throughout is poor quality. Flaking paint in some, and pieces of kitchen towel as a base in drawers. Lack of plug sockets/locations in bedrooms. A lot of door handles were coming loose including the front door knob. The house has low water pressure, so there is a water pump in the attic to provide water pressure which needs turning on and off every day, its quite loud and annoying. Pedals on the bathroom pedal bins have gone. Clocks need new batteries. Pane of glass freestanding in corner of garden where children play. Exterior all needs powerwashing. Overall we have noticed many snags throughout the house and the finishing is a little rough. It seems to lack TLC/attention to detail, which is disappointing considering the price that is charged for the rental. The house could be brilliant and a lot of the these points could be easily rectified. Ultimately we would not choose to stay at this house again though.- Mr Cornall, July 2021

“Dover Lodge was an exceptional house, all the facilities were excellent.”
The owners had left us cakes, biscuits, tea,coffee and milk which we appreciated. It was situated in a quiet road, ideal for lots of walking, shops and restaurants not to far away. The location was excellent for the beach, also easy to get to Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks etc. We had a lovely holiday and are seriously considering using it again next year.- Mr Barnes, September 2020

“What a beautiful house in a lovely quiet secluded location surrounded by tall trees.”
The house was large, bright and clean, the kitchen in particular was great, very large and modern. The garden was lovely with a summerhouse at the top which was good to go and relax in or watch TV. We had six adults and a two year old in our party and had plenty of space with the added benefit of four bathrooms so each couple had their own which was a real plus We would have loved to stay longer, even our two year old didn’t want to leave her holiday home. The house is lovely, and set in a quiet and peaceful road. There’s a lovely walk through a wooded area just at the bottom of the road, great for anyone with dogs. We passed some of the local people while out walking who were very friendly and gave us tips on places to visit that were dog friendly. Great location for trips out and in a few miles of some lovely beaches. I would definitely book again.- Mrs Faulder, September 2019

Only down side owner obviously smokes cigars around the house and being being open plan layout it smelled everywhere, particularly if doors and windows closed all day. Dishwasher operational but could not clean plates, cutlery etc. Ice making facility on freezer not working.For house of this standard and rental cost would have expected better cutlery, mugs, glasses.The above let the property down.- Mr Scarlett, June 2019

About the location
Sandbanks 5 miles; Bournemouth 5.3 miles.
The town of Poole is dominated by one of the world's biggest natural harbours, which features five pine clad islands and regular boat trips. The largest of these islands is Brownsea Island, where Baden Powell began the Scout Movement. To the west is the 'Isle of Purbeck', which offers visitors scenic countryside, dotted with quaint villages and stunning seascapes, plus Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Corfe Castle are well worth a visit. The local beaches at Sandbanks provide excellent facilities for all kinds of watersports. Alternatively, visit the neighbouring family friendly seaside resort of Bournemouth and within driving distance is the fascinating New Forest National Park. An excellent holiday destination at any time of the year.
