It is almost July, which means the Dorset Seafood Festival is fast approaching and with it the launch of the Dream Dorset Trail.

We couldn’t be more excited about this brand new free family event, which we have created to showcase the best of Weymouth Harbour and Nothe Gardens, there’s also a chance to win the incredible prize of a family stay in one of our flagship properties, but there is so much more besides, so why not bring along the family and make a weekend of it.

Here are our top picks and tips for the perfect Pommery Seafood Festival experience.

  • Take in a demonstration at the Pavilion stand, with a line-up of guest chefs including Sophie Michell and Neil Rankin.
  • Learn how to grill your seafood to perfection, or how to perfectly fillet a fish in a masterclass over at the Seafish Stage
  • Indulge in a tipple of two with tasting sessions from Dorset favourites Conker Spirit and Black Cow Vodka, or head over to the ‘Badger set’ to enjoy a beer and food matching session.
  • Stroll the stands around the harbour and eat your way through an array of seafood delights, including some of our favourites, lobster mac n cheese and fish tacos to name a few.
  • Head over to the Nothe gardens for the Dream Dorset Trail, with traditional games, mascot mice and the Nothe artillery to enjoy.

Access to the Seafood festival couldn’t be easier with trains from London, Southampton and Bournemouth as well as Bristol taking you straight to Weymouth town centre.

The local and wider area including Dorchester, Portland and Bridport are serviced by various buses and taxi services and there is a reliable park and ride option available for drivers.

With June being one of the sunniest in memory, July is looking to carry that though, why not book a self-catering Dorset break and enjoy Europe’s largest free festival in style, infact why not make a week of it and see Dorset in all its summer glory.

We have just a few properties left for the Seafood Festival weekend, which you can find here.
