  1. The village can be traced back as far as the Doomsday book, and started life as Bridetone, possibly due to its close proximity to the river Bride.

 

  1. Burton Bradstock is home to the Hive Beach café, a multi award winning café, which serves local seafood caught straight from the Jurassic Coast

 

5. During World War II Hive beach was used by the US army for cliff scaling practice runs, using rocket launchers fitted with grapnel heads and attached to rope ladders.
