Melanie's is a charming two bedroom mews style house situated just a few moments from the old harbourside in Weymouth.   Part of an upmarket gated development called Kellaway Court, for hundreds of years the area was used for brewing beer, hence the name of the area; Brewer's Quay.  Whilst beer is no longer brewed in the location many of the historic buildings remain and add to the character of the Quay area.  Melanie's is an elegant home from home for our guests and benefits from a small front patio and secure parking.    Just moments from the cottage is Hope Square with its alfresco dining, the square is bordered with restaurants, cafes and pubs, offering a variety of good food and drinks.  Just a short walk away is Newton's Cove, a local pebbly beach with rock pools, and the breath taking sea views from Nothe Gardens.  The main town and Weymouth's long sandy beach are just around a seven minute walk away. Melanie's, like its sister cottage Poppies is sure to be one of our most popular holiday cottages.

Really lovey cottage, everything so convenient. Spotlessly clean. Loved it and intend to book again for next year.We have been coming to Weymouth every year since 1997 and always book via Dream Cottages. We have stayed in some lovely accommodation but the location of Melanie's cottage was fantastic, near to absolutely everything and great parking was a bonus. Stayed September 2016

Mr C Ingleby
We booked the 3rd week in August and to our surprise this was the week of the Weymouth Carnival, this contributed to the enjoyment of our vacation and will try again to select this week in 2017. We were blessed with absolutely amazing weather and really only used the holiday home for sleeping. There are so many fantastic restaurants situated in Weymouth that there is no need to waste time cooking yourself. This contemporary furnished and design holiday home is situated in the idullic, café culture of Brewers Quay and was spotlessly clean. The security of the complex takes away any stress of worrying about your posessions and car. My wife, son and I loved every second and shall return in 2017 with Dream Cottages - stayed August 2016

Mrs M Owen

An excellently situated cottage in the heart of Weymouth. Spacious and well equipped with all the possible facilities required. We enjoyed a good study as a family of 4 over half term in May 2016.

We really enjoyed our stay in Melanie's cottage which was welcoming and offered high standard of accommodation in an excellent location. We were also impressed by Dream Cottages. Booking was easy. A technical hitch with the house was dealt with swiftly and efficiently and had little to no impact on our holiday. Thank you. Stayed March 2016

About the Location

Weymouth sits perfectly on the stunningly beautiful Jurassic coastline. Located on the Southern tip of Dorset, this traditional seaside town is one of the most visited and popular areas on the south coast.

With a beautiful, blue flag, sandy beach, sitting against the back drop of an elegant Georgian esplanade, this seaside wonder is a firm favourite for families. As indeed it once was for King George III, who famously used to holiday here.

For a perfectly nostalgic English seaside holiday, you can ask for no more. A golden, sandy beach, named one of the best in Britain, shallow waters which are perfect for paddling, Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides, carousels on the promenade, all accompanied by traditional chippies and quaint tea rooms.

Head down to Weymouth’s Old Harbour, a fine Georgian harbour and one of the prettiest in Europe. Simply soak up the bustling atmosphere of harbour life; sit on the harbour wall with some fish and chips and watch the large catamarans, traditional fishing boats and luxury yachts. Or why not enjoy an adrenaline fuelled ride around the bay with the Weymouth Bay Rib Charters. How about a nice family fishing trip? Many of the fishing boats at the harbour offer fishing trips for absolute beginners and accomplished anglers. Weymouth is fantastic for fishing with plenty of wrecks and reefs to explore.

Try a Jurassic Safari where you can sample Dorset’s secret beauty, off the beaten track. You will be taken along unspoilt country lanes, ancient byways and deep river crossings, whilst catching sight of beautiful wildlife.

Fossil hunting on Chesil beach is a joy with the children. They can run up and down the steep shingle climb, whilst you picnic on the beach.

Sandworld is definitely worth a visit; the sand art won’t fail to impress and there is a fantastic sandpit for the children to play in.

Visit the magnificent Nothe Fort and explore the tunnels and passageways that were once filled with soldiers and canons. See where all the gun powder was stored and walk up to the top level where the canons were fired at the approaching enemy.

If a leisurely stroll through beautiful gardens is more your thing, why not try the award winning Greenhill Gardens, which sit right on the seafront. Bennetts Water Gardens is also a lovely choice, replete with a vast array of water lilies and a Claude Monet style Japanese bridge. A very romantic setting for a picnic!

For a fun packed day out with the kids, head to the Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park and Tower, an underground sea world with attractions, rides and over 1,000 incredible creatures. Venture up in a viewing capsule on the The Jurassic Skyline for an incredible panoramic view across the Jurassic Coastline and Dorset countryside.

Children will love Fantasy Island. There are lots of rides, many traditional ones ideal for younger children, tea pots and flying elephants to name but a few! Penny arcades, slot machines and a fab coffee bar.

Weymouth is a fantastic town with plenty to do for everyone!
