The Old Reading Room sits on the edge of the picturesque Dorset village of Langton Herring.  Filled with traditional stone cottages, this village has bags of Dorset charm. This beautifully appointed Dorset holiday cottage has been fully renovated in 2014 and equipped with all the conveniences you need, including superfast broadband.  In the kitchen, granite work surfaces complement the hand built bespoke units and high end appliances.  Two steps up from the kitchen is the cosy lounge with log burner - perfect for autumn and winter stays and in the warmer weather open the patio doors and stroll into the pretty garden where you can hear the gentle songs of visiting birds.  The Old Reading Room is ideally situated for you to enjoy much of what the Jurassic Coast has to offer, including, being minutes away from Fleet Lagoon Nature reserve, and the Jurassic costal path, and just a short drive from the seaside resorts of Weymouth and Lyme Regis.

The cottage offers an outstanding and peaceful base for walkers to explore the miles of surrounding footpaths. A 10 minute walk on the Coastal Footpath leads to the Fleet Lagoon, one of the few natural lagoons left in the world. The Fleet is an important area for wildlife and has received an SPA (Special Protection Area) under the EU Birds directive, an SAC (Special Area of Conservation) and an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest).  With low levels of ambient light pollution, Dorset is known to be a popular location for those wanting to get clear view of the night sky.
