The chalet is surrounded by fields, rolling hills and looks out directly onto the sea. Siesta and Sandpiper Chalets are two of only 13 chalets at this village edge location. Seconds away is a beautiful pebble and sand beach backed by impressive cliffs, including Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the South coast at 191m above sea level. The chalets are located in the sleepy coastal village of Eype which is highly sought after by ramblers and people who enjoy outdoor life. Eype has the benefit of a local pub, the New Inn serving a good choice of food and a fine pint of ale as well as a seasonal shop very near the chalets for basic provisions only. The village with its narrow winding roads and traditional pastoral buildings has a feel of years gone by and on a holiday here you may feel transported to a less frantic, more relaxed era. For a busier atmosphere, the market town of Bridport is only a mile and a half away where you can find well known high street stores, antiques and collectables, as well as a regular farmers' market showcasing the best of Dorset produce. The walks on offer around Siesta and Sandpiper are some of the best available along the World Heritage coastline of Dorset. If walking doesn't take your fancy you may wish to sit on the patio area and enjoy the surrounding views and tranquillity while you watch the rabbits skipping about the field! Please Note: Changeover day for this property is Sunday.

About the Location

Eype is a wonderfully peaceful coastal village, with narrow winding lanes, pretty cottages, a great local pub, where well behaved dogs are welcome, and a glorious setting amongst The Golden Cap National Trust Estate. Eype is the perfect place to escape and relax in a cosy holiday cottage.

The pretty winding lanes lead to a beautiful shelving shingle beach, where the locals come for some seclusion, away from the more well-known tourist beaches of Lyme Regis to the west and West Bay to the east. The large soft pebbles make it a comfortable picnicking spot and the beach is one of the best for keen fishermen.

Simply step outside your holiday cottage and you have rambling walks in abundance, all across the world famous Jurassic coastline, where you can take the coastal route along the South West Coastal Path, or a countryside jaunt past fields of peacefully grazing farm animals.

Fossil hunting is a must in this area, since the coastline dates back from around 189 million years ago. Spend a day on the beach, building sandcastles and digging up ammonites and then relax in the village pub for a tipple or two.

The village of Eype is just a couple of miles away from the cool and bustling market town of Bridport. The street market is held every Wednesday and Saturday here and there is also a fantastic monthly farmers market and a regular vintage market.

Eype is also just as close to the perfectly quaint West Bay Harbour. A great place to while away the afternoon watching the fishing boats or perhaps hire a boat yourself for a trip through the riverside meadows.
