Downton House is an elegant double fronted Edwardian property situated within a 4 minute walk of the Old Harbour in Weymouth.  To reach the Old Harbour walking one will first pass through Hope Square with its restaurants and the famous Red Lion, popular with both locals and visitors alike.  Weymouth's famous 17th Century harbour is an absolute delight with working fishing boats, world class yachts and a Life Boat Station.  The harbour is home to the historic Royal Dorset Yacht Club.
Downton House is a stylish and spacious house with accommodation over three floors.  On the ground floor there is a large kitchen with a range cooker and dining table.  French doors lead onto a secluded courtyard where visitors can dine al fresco amongst the sub tropical plants.  The Courtyard is big enough to provide convenient parking as well. 

The dining room is an ideal setting for a great dinner party whilst the rear lounge and its adjoining period conservatory offer a relaxing retreat. There is one twin bedroom on the ground floor with three further bedrooms on the first floor.  All are spacious.  The second floor is the "piece de resistance" with a large attic lounge that has a great sound system and 40" TV.  French doors lead onto the sun drenched roof terrace.  The house has lavatories on all three floors, a bath and shower on the first and a superb shower room on the top floor.

This fine property sleeps eight comfortably with high quality TV's in both lounges and three of the bedrooms.  Downton house is one of the finest examples of Edwardian style in the area with all its superb original features in place save for one fireplace in the ground floor bedroom - the fire in the lounge can be used during the winter months - the other fireplaces are for display only and have been sealed.  Stay at Downton House and truly enjoy the finest of living with all the joy and fun of glorious Weymouth literally on your doorstep.

Services in Addition:   Gas central heating.  Open fire in formal lounge only.  Fridge / freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, range master gas cooker and dishwasher, wifi. Gated parking - two spaces tandem length for two small to medium sized cars to be able to park off road.

The owners of Downton House require a £200 refundable security deposit paid on booking, this will be refunded within two weeks of departure subject to a satisfactory check-out.
